Single-select lists, at the pay step.
A single-select list — delivery slots, gift wrap, PO types — saved to the order.
2 Exactly what your shopper sees — at the moment they're ready to buy.
The Checkout Ninja tag only marks the block in this preview — it never appears in your live checkout.
"Fantastic app, highly recommended. We've been using it for years — a long list of checkout customisations suited to our store. A must-have for all your Shopify checkout needs."
How to add Dropdown to Shopify checkout
Install Checkout Ninja from the Shopify App Store, open the checkout editor, and drag the Dropdown block into the section where you want it. Then configure it in three steps. No theme code, no checkout.liquid, and it survives every Shopify update because it runs on Checkout Extensibility.
Define your options
Add option labels and values. Set a default selection if you want one.
Set required
Required dropdowns block pay until selected. Optional defaults to “— please choose —”.
Attach to order
Selected value goes to the order as a custom attribute. Surfaces on packing slip.
-
How many options can I add?
Up to 50. Beyond that, consider a search-style picker or a different field type.
-
Can options be conditional?
Yes. Pair with Conditional Visibility — show certain options only for certain carts or customer segments.
-
Does the dropdown work on mobile?
Yes. We use the native mobile picker on iOS/Android for a familiar feel.
