How to add Promo Banner Upsell to Shopify checkout
Install Checkout Ninja from the Shopify App Store, open the checkout editor, and drag the Promo Banner Upsell block into the section where you want it. Then configure it in three steps. No theme code, no checkout.liquid, and it survives every Shopify update because it runs on Checkout Extensibility.
Upload the campaign banner
Drop in your artwork, set alt text, and optionally make the whole banner a link. Full-bleed mode lets it reach the container edge.
Curate the products beneath
Hand-pick the recommendations, or fall back to Shopify's Related and Complementary sets. Each row carries a variant picker and an Add button.
Tune the frame
Corner radius, max banner height and padding are all per-block. Navigation arrows only appear when the products actually overflow one view.

What size should the banner image be?
Any width works — the banner scales to the block. Set a max height if you want to cap how much vertical space it takes, and use full-bleed if you want it edge-to-edge.

Can the banner link somewhere?
Yes. Set a link URL and choose whether it opens in a new tab. Leaving checkout mid-purchase is risky, so a new tab is usually the safer choice.

Do the arrows always show?
No. Navigation arrows only render when there are more products than fit in one view, so a two-product promo never shows dead controls.
