How to add Phone Input to Shopify checkout
Install Checkout Ninja from the Shopify App Store, open the checkout editor, and drag the Phone Input block into the section where you want it. Then configure it in three steps. No theme code, no checkout.liquid, and it survives every Shopify update because it runs on Checkout Extensibility.
Drop the field
Add Phone Input. Set label and helper text.
Choose the default country
Auto-detect from IP (default), or pin to a specific country if you only ship to one.
Set required
Required is standard for SMS notifications. Optional if you only contact via email.

Does it validate against carrier networks?
We validate against the country's mobile number format spec. Live carrier lookup is on the roadmap.

Can I capture landlines?
Yes — toggle the rule from mobile-only to any phone.

Does it work with Shopify's built-in shipping phone?
We don't conflict. If you collect shipping phone natively, you can hide this block via Conditional Visibility.
