Switch to a three-page checkout
The block only appears on three-page checkouts, because a one-page checkout has no separate steps. Set it under Settings → Checkout layout in the checkout editor.
Drop the block in
No step configuration. Information, Shipping and Payment are read live from checkout, so the states are always correct.
Add optional copy
An optional heading plus text above and below the steps — “Almost done!” and “Fast, safe checkout.” Leave them empty and they take no space.

Why isn't the block showing?
It requires a three-page checkout. On a one-page checkout there are no separate steps to indicate, so the block stays hidden. Switch layout under Settings → Checkout layout.

Do I have to configure the steps?
No. Steps are detected automatically from checkout — Information, Shipping, Payment — along with which are complete, current and upcoming.

Does it change anything about checkout behaviour?
No. It is visual only. It reports progress; it never gates or alters a step.
