How to set up the Trust Badge block
In short
The Trust Badge block shows a title and a vertical list of badges in checkout, each with an icon, a title and a short description. Add the Trust Badge block, add one badge per message under Trust Badges, pick a preset icon or an image URL for each, save, and place the block in the checkout editor.

Setup
No code, ~5 minutes
✓ Applies to
- Advanced and Deluxe plans
- Shopify Plus checkout
- Any checkout position: body, after the header, or around the delivery address
✕ Doesn't apply to
- Certified seals from third parties. The block shows the icons and text you choose; it doesn't verify anything
- Thank-you and order status pages
What the Trust Badge block does
The block shows a title, for example “Trusted by thousands of customers”, above a vertical list of badges. Each badge is one row: an icon on the left, then a bold title and a short grey description, such as “Secure Checkout” over “SSL Protected”. It’s display only. Buyers can’t click or change anything.
When to use it
- Answer the questions buyers have at payment: secure checkout, returns, delivery times, guarantees.
- Give each message room to explain itself. The stacked layout fits a two-line description under every badge.
- Reassure first-time buyers who don’t know your store’s policies yet.
Before you start
- Know which messages you want to show. Keep titles short and put the detail in the description.
- Host any custom icons at a public URL, for example in Content → Files in your Shopify admin, if you don’t want to use the preset icons.
Set it up
- In Checkout Ninja, go to Blocks and click Create New Block. Then click Start Fresh, or open an existing block you want to add it to.
- Click Add block and choose Trust Badge.
- Under Title, edit the Title Text, or clear it to hide the title. Set Title Alignment.
- Under Trust Badges, add a badge. A new badge starts blank, so fill in:
- Badge Title and Badge Description;
- Icon Type: Preset Icon (pick from Choose Icon) or Custom Image (paste an Image URL);
- Icon Size.
- Repeat for each badge. Drag badges to reorder them.
- Click Done. Check that Status is Active, then click Save and copy the Block ID.
- Click Open Checkout Editor. Add the Custom Block app block where you want the badges, often near the payment step. Paste the Block ID and save.
Choose a preset icon for every badge. The picker’s default value, shield, isn’t one of its listed icons, so pick one such as Lock, Truck, Return or Credit Card to be sure an icon shows.

Verify it worked
- Open your checkout with any product in the cart. The title shows at the alignment you chose, with each badge on its own row below.
- Check that every badge shows its icon. A missing icon means the preset isn’t set or the image URL doesn’t load.
- If you added visibility conditions, open a checkout that doesn’t meet them. The badges shouldn’t show.
Limitations
- Shopify Plus only for placement in the checkout steps. That’s a Shopify rule for all checkout apps.
- Text sizes are approximate. Shopify’s checkout components have no free font sizing, so the six sizes map to four steps: Extra Large shows as a heading, Large as bold text, Base and Medium as body text, and Small and Extra Small as small text.
- Accent (Blue) shows in your default text colour. Shopify’s checkout text has no brand-blue option.
- Some preset icons can’t reach the largest pixel sizes. Icons without a built-in drawing fall back to Shopify’s icon, which is capped at a smaller size.
- Badges are text and images only. They can’t link to a policy page.
Troubleshooting
A badge shows text but no icon.
Open the badge and check Icon Type. For Preset Icon, choose an icon in Choose Icon. For Custom Image, check the Image URL opens in a browser and starts with https://.
A badge is missing its title or description. New badges start blank. Open the badge and fill in Badge Title and Badge Description. An empty field isn’t shown.
The block doesn’t show in checkout. Check the block is Active and its Block ID is pasted into a Custom Block in the checkout editor. Then run through the general checklist.

Frequently asked
Can I use my own badge images? +
Yes. Set a badge's Icon Type to Custom Image and paste the image's URL into Image URL. The image is shown at the Icon Size you pick, from 24px to 48px square.
How many badges can I add? +
The Trust Badges list has no fixed limit. Badges stack vertically, one per row, so each one you add makes the block taller.
What's the difference between Trust Badge and Trust Badges (Horizontal)? +
They have the same badge settings. Trust Badge stacks badges vertically with the icon beside the text. Trust Badges (Horizontal) puts them in one row with the icon above the text, and adds Badge Alignment and Badge Spacing.
Can I show different badges to different buyers? +
Yes. Put each set of badges in its own checkout block and turn on Enable conditional block visibility, for example to show a duties badge only to international buyers.
